Honda Civic Illustrations<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 1999\/2000 Honda Civic Si, was the first Si produced as a coupe and over the years gathered a large cult-like following. At the time, there were very few cars that could boast 100 HP per liter. The 1.6 liter, 160 HP inline 4 cylinder B16A2 accomplishes that very spec! This illustration is based on a combination of Jamie Soto’s 2000 Honda Civic Si and my personal 1999 Si. I owned a 1999 Honda Civic Si from the showroom floor in the Spring of 1999 and kept it in tip-top shape. I racked up 165,000 miles on her by 2009 and unfortunately, it was totaled, thanks to an unlicensed 16-year-old, driving a 4×4 truck that he did not own. He made a turn from the opposing turn lane and arced in right front of me. I had absolutely zero time to apply the brakes and I slammed the side of the truck at 35 MPH. The angle of the hit plus the airbag going off, resulted in fractured C4 vertebrae in my neck, and T3 vertebrae in my mid-back. Oh boy! Thanks a lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I do however love this car and it was a privilege and a pleasure to illustrate the Honda Civic Si. The Photoshop file (PSD) is comprised of 976 layers to create the look you see for each of the 3 colors. It took approximately 45 hours to produce the look and feel of this illustration. Each layer is a vector object which makes the illustration practically infinitely resizable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Electron Blue Pearl is the most popular color for the Si and the most sought after. in 1999 there were only 5000 “EBP” Si’s produced as it was only 1\/2 of a year of production. In 2000 there were 10,000 “EBP” Si’s produced. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

1999 Honda Civic Type R<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Honda Civic was the third Type R released in the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) following on the heels of the NSX Type R and the Integra Type R. 25 years hence, in 2024, the 1999 Honda Civic Type R will be legal for import into the US. They most likely will command prices upward of $80-90,000 or more depending on the condition and mileage. A low mileage pristine Type R, will most likely fetch $100K. I don’t doubt that at all! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
